2.3 Information from USCIS API

We retrieve case status information from the official USCIS Case Status API based on the receipt numbers (PII) you provide. This data is displayed to you but we do not permanently storepersonal information such as names, addresses, or case details from the API response.

PII Handling: Because USCIS classifies receipt numbers as Personally Identifiable Information, we treat them with the same security and privacy protections as other sensitive personal data.

We use the collected information for:

• Providing case status lookup services via USCIS API
• Improving our service and user experience
• Analyzing usage patterns and trends (anonymized)

4. Data Retention

Search History (PII): Receipt numbers, which USCIS considers Personally Identifiable Information, and associated search metadata are automatically deleted after 30 days.

USCIS API Data: Case status information retrieved from USCIS is not permanently stored on our servers. It is displayed to you in real-time and cached temporarily (up to 24 hours) to reduce API calls.

Analytics Data: Anonymized aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.

USCIS Classification: The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) classifies receipt numbers as Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Receipt numbers are unique identifiers that are directly linked to individual immigration cases and applicants.

Our Treatment of PII: We recognize and respect USCIS's classification of receipt numbers as PII. As such, we:

• Apply industry-standard security measures to protect receipt numbers
• Automatically delete receipt numbers after 30 days
• Do not share receipt numbers with third parties (except USCIS API for status lookup)
• Treat receipt numbers with the same level of protection as other sensitive personal information
